Fees Budget Expenses

Question:

How much does it cost to study medicine at a Romanian University?

Answer

The university fees for undergraduate studies towards a Bachelor of Medicine is $3600 (USD) per year. This includes all lab, practical/clinical and tuition fees. Books, accommodation and other expenses are the responsibility of the student.

At the end of the 6year program, students are required to write the Romanian license exam which costs $1000 (USD - 2007).

E.U. citizens pay between €1200 and € 4000 for tuition fees due to agreements amongst E.U. member countries. Some faculties have an entrance exam for E.U students after which the successful completion of, will allow the candidate to receive a small reduction in tuition fees.

Question:

Will there be an increase in tuition fees in Romanian Universities?

Answer

The fees at all state funded Romanian medical schools are $3600 (USD) per year. Will these fees increase?

This is a difficult question to answer. The fees have not changed for many years. It was $3600 when we first began working with Romania in 2001. The university have not given any indication of a fee increase. We would advise students to budget for a 10-20% increase during their 6 year program (worst case scenario!).

European Union member country students pay €1200 per year and have to write an entrance exam.

Nonetheless the current tuition fees of $3600USD charged by Romanian medical universities is one of the lowest we have found. E.U member state students pay €1200 per annum due to agreements between the various E.U member countries.
